I like finding random bullshit programs on the internet. I just scan them with my AV before installing. Only doing stuff through some app store or 'official source' doesn't sound very nice at all to me.

I do that. Sometimes I just hop on Github, type in random words and try stuff out.

I found this neat game:
https://github.com/dlowe/death
and this ultra-lightweight Tetris in the terminal:
https://github.com/troglobit/tetris

Compiling from source can be a pain but, once you've got the hang of it, it's very rewarding.

I have that cute madobe nanami soundpack too.
Though I have to avoid using minimize/maximize too often or the JAJAN JAJAN JAJAN JAJAJANANAAJAAJAJAJNA would get annoying.
I think the win8-tan soundpack was better for this, but its not appropriate to use win8-tan sounds on win7, and I dont intend to use win8 itself.

Im still thinking about it, it still seems like an HD screen on your face + wii. I was hoping someone i knew would buy it so i could get a testimony at least.

I only want it for the hentai, everything else seems in such a Saba stage. Are you guys just buying your games off steam? These VR's need a game that you need to have VR to play and makes you want to get a VR. Like halo 2 and xbox, like buying an xbox just to play halo 2. I need that experience. I think acid is more eye opening than this will ever be and it wont destroy my eyes as fast.

Someone tried the OSVR? From all the VR devices it's the only one I'm interested in since the devkit is open source, but beside that I don't get the differences.

http://www.osvr.org/

Can't we plug those devices in and play games simply displayed on the googles or games must be designed specifically to be played this way?

 No.405

>>403
Games and apps must be created with a compatible SDK of the HMD you intend to use (for example Oculus Rift -> OculusSDK/SteamVR, HTC Vive-> SteamVR).
OSVR is an open source SDK so every hardware manufacturer can use it to create their HMD software, but I gotta say that Valve intends too to let other manufacturers create SteamVR compatible HMD, and Oculus too but It isn't as clear than Valve.

Recently OSVR support was added to Unreal Engine and Unity so there will probably be more OSVR games in the future but right now there is only a few or none, it's more a dev kit than a consumer product.

Talking about product, the OSVR dev kit is vastly inferior than the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive.

That's saddening, it sounds like the VR market will suffer from the same scattering and exclusivity problems than gaming consoles or digital distribution platforms.

So basically any of those things are pretty much fancy dust collectors if you don't have an app with build-in support for it?

I think my phone is a scam. It says total memory around 120GB, but there are only 6GB free, while the rest is occupied by "other" data, I have no access to. There also is never more free RAM available than 700 MB, which is also suspicious. Well, it was a present, so I don't mind. Shitty proprietary OS full of advertisement is still shitty.

I got a Rpi and put nginx on it to run a site. I dont really have enough time out side of work to get the damn thing running outside my local network yet, but im close. I set up a shared partition on my desktop so that when you get to the site it loads a random webm from my collection and should get a new one everytime you reload. Alternatively, you could buy a VPS with Bitcoin, setup OpenVPN/PPTP, disable logs, and also be able to post to your favorite imageboards or forums that have blocked IPs from major VPNs. The downside is that only you will be posting from this IP, and therefore a larger fingerprint will be created. This is a good choice, though, if you are in public and using your VPN to safely browse Rakuten, Crunchyroll, Twitter, etc.etc. that already know your identity - you are just wanting to hide it from those around you!

I personally use both. A VPS with DigitalOcean on an American server that I run a PTPP server on to access Netflix, my personal banking, imageboards, etc. in places where I am not concerned about my Sushi Rollymity, except from those L337 [email protected]$ around me at the public library or Starbucks who are snooping on my connection. I also have a VPN with a well-rated provider that I paid for with Bitcoin through Tor that I use for torrenting, browsing some imageboards, accessing Tor (I don't do it directly anymore to avoid attracting suspicion from my ISP/Government, although US citizens may be less concerned.) et.al.

>well, that was a crappy summary of things that I already knew

Sorry, senpai ;_; I will post more later, I am just on the subway to work.

EDIT: I derped out and forgot to post it. I'm just getting OFF work and I am on my way home. I have a paper for grad school to work on, though, so I may not be back for some hours.
