Happens sometimes when you corrupt images. Just open it in in paint.net or gimp and save it again. That fixes anything broken.

There is something I find interesting about abandoned/forgotten buildings, monuments, and piles of rumble in urban settings and in the middle of nowhere. Post Structures left to decay, taken back by nature at the mercy of graffiti artist, and home to the less fortunate.

What are some cool films/short films you'd like to recommend?
I just finished watching Heart String Marionette by MdotStrange and it was amazing, I highly recommend it if you want a beautiful animation or utter mindfuck.

Millennium Actress is my favorite anime film. A lot of people say Paprika is Satoshi Kon's greatest work, and while I love that film too, in my opinion Millennium Actress' plotline is more personal and moving. On top of that the way it uses animation really shows how the medium can be used to tell stories in a way that would be hard or impossible to tell in a live action film.

I really love all of edgar wright's stuff, like hot fuzz and whatnot.
I just saw Dredd and jesus was it amazing. I highly reccomend it if you like action movies.

Ernest et Celestine, it's a french animation movie about a bear and a little mouse that live in different and antagonistic societies but end up being friends.
The art is very pretty and the story heart-warming. I love it.

I watched John Wick recently and it was way better than I expected. The fight scenes are choreographed extremely well. If you want to basically watch an hour of Keanu Reeves being badass, it's great.

A friend of mine have been writing back and forth to one another for almost 3 years now, and for the past 6 months or so I've been using this when writing my replies. It's pretty bad, but I wanted something cheap to start on. My sister got me an ink pen as a souvenir from Venice, perhaps I'll start using that soon. I'll post a picture of that instrument in a few hours.

handwritten letters are always so nice. My gf and I write them to each other from time to time. If you want to get into fountain pens check out Jinhao on ebay. For about the price of a cup of coffee you can get a pretty solid entry-level pen.

I totally agree, it's so much more personal both for me and between us. I feel like I really let loose all that I'm holding inside when I write a letter, even though I don't really consider myself a 'writer'.
I'll certainly check it out, I really want something better to use that I can still carry around easily!

Welcome to the sushigirl manga club!

The purpose of this thread and club is to get people reading and enjoying more manga, and chatting about it to too. To join in find a manga to read and take some time out to close distractions like IRC at some point each Saturday to read.

If you don't have any manga here are some masterpieces I'd recommend anyone to start off with:

Saikyou Densetsu Kurosawa - This is a fantastic story about being an outside, lacking purpose and eventually finding it.
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou - The incredibly beautiful and touching world of alpha the robot cafe owner.
Ichigo Mashimaro - A lovely relaxing story and atmosphere, lots of fun relatable characters. Just something to take it easy with.
Hi No Tori - A trancendental story from the great master Tezuka.

Do you have any manga you are reading right now?
Do you have a backlog of manga that you want to read but haven't got around to?
