Mostly but you can use it for other minor things like taking notes, taking photos, organizing shit, "gaming" etc… Right now he only cool shit that is coming to smartphone is mobile VR and AR.
Probably hyped because it's a casual device that everyone have and use so for regular people having "da best brand new smartphone" is like having the latest trending cap or something.

I use mine to:
Hear music (either downloaded or from youtube)
Playing go online throuh a client
Alarm clock
Anyway the reason I got it in the first place was because, being it a little computer, I believed I could use it to do bad stuff like scan for wifi access points and try to crack them or login to the routers using dictionary attacks or i tercept internet traffic from some targets. Haven't done any of it though

I just use mine to pass the time without having to socialize.

There are tons of options, and with those kinds of specs, your phone is better than my desktop tower…
You could emulate, archive files to a cloud storage source, chat using IRC, download music, seed torrents, and more. It's kinda what you make it, all you gotta do is imagine.

What you guys think? I would be willing to clean it up a bit if there is any interest.

I think my phone is a scam. It says total memory around 120GB, but there are only 6GB free, while the rest is occupied by "other" data, I have no access to. There also is never more free RAM available than 700 MB, which is also suspicious. Well, it was a present, so I don't mind. Shitty proprietary OS full of advertisement is still shitty.
